Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated at CMR-CBS campus with a great enthusiasm by students on November 5th, 2019.The chief guest for the day was Mr. Girish Gowda (The first fighter of the Country to win Silver in the World Championship), Mr. Andrew Jayapoul (Big-Boss Contestant) and Ms.Ashwini Ananditha (Pyate Hudgir Halli Life Contestant and Artist, Kannada Film Industry) from the Kannada Film Industry and has graced the occasion. It was a Day to salute our Karnataka state and depict with various cultural programs to showcase the heritage of Karnataka. Programs included Dollu Kunitha, A skit on the historic event of ONAKE OBAVVA of Chitradurga Fort, Janapada Geethe and other cultural performances.
Mr. Girish Gowda, himself is an example of fighting against the terminal disease cancer.At the age of 32, Girish Gowda was diagnosed with blood cancer. However, he pursued his passion in Kickboxing inspite of Medical advice for the rest, he relentlessly fought in the boxing ring and won a Gold medal at the Wako India Kickboxing Federation Championship in Delhi and also became the first fighter of the country to win the Silver Medal in the World Championship. Mr. Girish Gowda spoke about his journey and he became an inspiration to our students.
